Thirty of the top HR tech startups get a chance to prove themselves in an open competition with $25,000 and bragging rights at stake.

Dare we say it? Let’s get ready to ruuuummmble!

There is an impressive history of notable battles in Las Vegas’ boxing rings. In keeping with that tradition – though rather than body blows it will be budding brains trading metaphorical punches via technology – for 2019, HR Tech Conference attendees in Las Vegas will experience a special type of competition.In this case, 30 of the most buzzworthy HR tech startups will face off in what’s called the Startup Pitchfest. To the winning fledgling firm will go a $25,000 first-place prize and bragging rights, with the second-place finisher earning $5,000.

It all gets rolling on opening day – Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. – with Preliminary Round 1 at the Expo Pitchfest Theater 1540. The second and third prelim rounds will take place at the same location (check the HR Tech Conference agenda for days and times), with the finals set for closing day, Thursday, Oct. 3, at 10 am. Each round includes audience voting.

The judging lineup is impressive, with HR tech pioneers including: Ilonka Jankovich, an entrepreneur, corporate venture capitalist and Board member; Paul Jacquin, managing partner, Randstad Innovation Fund; George LaRocque, founder & principal analyst at HRWins; Jeanne Achille, founder and CEO at the Devon Group and Program Chair, Women in HR Tech Summit; Jason Corsello, founder and general partner at Acadian Ventures; Tim Sackett, president, HRU Technical Resources, and Robby Peters, vice president of business development at Sequoia Consulting Group and co-founder of PeopleTech Partners. Randstad Innovation Fund is the Startup Pitchfest prize sponsor.

Emcees include Rebecca McKenna, vice president, Global Events, and publisher at LRP Publications, and Steve Boese, HR Technology Conference Co-Chair and president and co-founder, H3 HR Advisors

Startup Pitchfest Preliminary Rounds 2 and will take place on Wednesday, October 02, at 10:30 and 3:15 respectively, with each session lasting an hour.

Again, the Startup Pitchfest Final Round is set for closing day, Thursday, Oct. 3, at 10 am. It’s going to be an exciting battle, with some of HR Tech’s most innovative new entrepreneurs putting on their best efforts to impress both the audience and the judges. Don’t miss it!
